Rosemary and Paula

For the last 22 years we have taken part in the Community Foundation Car Raffle. We have sold tickets to our volunteers, members, friends, and also at the Centre:MK where the first prize VW car is displayed during November and December. This year we sold 630 tickets which raised £320.95 for the Reader Service.

On March 20th, Karen Preece and Paula Suchy attended the award ceremony at the Volkswagen head office in Milton Keynes to collect our cheque and watch the winner of the car collect the keys. We were thrilled to discover that we had sold the winning ticket to the lucky person, Rosemary, who remembered chatting with Paula while buying her ticket! We were also delighted to find that we were presented with a cheque for £100 as a reward for selling the winning ticket.

This is our first time that we have sold a ticket that won a big prize, it will spur us on for next year’s raffle!
